Workshop “Agricultural Technologies and their Application in Lending to Agricultural Producers”, Simferopol

The workshop was conducted by TA Consult on 21-22 November 2013 in the city of Simferopol within the framework of USAID Agroinvest project. The purpose of the workshop was to provide credit managers of financial institutions with the knowledge of the specifics and risks pertaining to SMPs’ (Small and Medium Producers) production cycle.

Credit unions officers and farmers of the Crimea Republic took part in the workshop. The workshop was designed to incorporate such modules as crop farming, vegetable farming, glasshouse cropping, horticulture, dairy stock farming, and pig breeding.

Each module covered the current situation in the relevant area and its development perspectives, described the production technology with specifying all the costs and risks on each production stage, as well as practical aspects of marketing of the MSPs’ products.

Specifics of financial and economic analysis of SMPs were introduced as a separate block in each module. Each module was supported by practical examples and case studies to contribute to better understanding.
