TA Consult experts delivered an innovation workshop for MetaBank credit staff within the framework of USAID Agroinvest project.

The purpose of the workshop was to provide credit staff of the commercial bank with detailed knowledge on production cycle of small and medium agricultural producers effecting lending decisions.

Basic principles of agricultural technology for cultivation of such grain crops as wheat, barley, rape, corn and sunflower were examined in the course of the training. The module covered the current situation in production of each crop and its development perspectives, described the production technology specifying all the costs and risks on each production phase, included the analysis of practical aspects of marketing of the MSPs’ products and was supported by video materials.

Specifics of financial and economic analysis of SMPs were introduced as a separate block in the module.

The module was supported by practical examples and case studies to contribute to better understanding. Upon the completion of the training the participants passed the test to identify the level of the knowledge they acquired.
