TA Consult completes Consulting Services for Ukrainian Banks on the Agricultural Loan Portfolio Management Project. The Project was financed by KfW and implemented in cooperation with the Independent Association of Ukrainian Banks (NABU). The main purpose of the consulting support was to provide access to finance for SMEs in agricultural sector, increase the share of agricultural loans in SME portfolio of the Ukrainian banks participating in seminars and improve the agricultural loan portfolio quality through the improvement of the skills level of the banks' officers.
With this purpose the Consultant provided assistance in improvement of skills of the relevant banks’ officers by dealing with the following tasks:
•    Assessment of the banks’ needs in improving knowledge in agricultural lending to SMEs;
•    Development and customization of the training materials for a series of seminars/trainings for the banks’ credit staff in accordance with the needs identified;
•    Training the banks’ personnel in the topics identified.
In the period from 5 October to 24 November 2015 the Consultant held 13 training sessions on 8 topics of a total duration of 25 working days (1-3 days per training). The total of 186 participants took part in the trainings. The training was attended by representatives of 14 banks.
All the trainings were highly evaluated by participants. 78% of participants considered the training as useful, another 21% considered training “rather useful”.
