Training/consulting: Marketing and Brand Building (Uzbekistan)

TA Consult designed and conducted tailor-made training and consulting in marketing and brand-building. The assignment consisted of four parts:
Part I. 2-days’ training on 12-13 September 2012 in:
•    Marketing goals and strategies
•    Segmentation and competition analysis
•    SWOT – analysis
•    Principles of marketing research
•    Branding
•    Development and promotion of the lending products
Part II. 5-days’ consulting on 15-19 April 2013. The aim of the second part of the project was to review the Bank’s progress made since the first visit of the expert in September 2012 (Part I), and to make further corrections and recommendation. TA Consult expert reviewed and evaluated the changes implemented by the Bank as a follow-up to the first training and further trained the Bank’s staff in branding, effective marketing communications, promotion, promotion activities.
Part III. 5-days’ consulting on 11-15 November 2013. The following topics were covered during the visit:
Marketing organization and structure - further streamlining by eliminating most of non-marketing functions previously handled within the department, etc.;
Marketing strategy and plan - 3 key marketing objectives identified as priorities, appropriate brand, product and research strategies defined;
Development of market and results orientation - application of corporate as well as departmental culture/philosophy;
Competitive Analysis - initial draft reviewed;
Brand image campaign - structure and methodology recommended for managing TV commercial production.
Part IV. 6-days’ consulting 27 April – 2 May 2014. The main priority during this visit was development of brand image television advertising as well as discussion of allocation of marketing responsibilities within the bank. The Consultant also made recommendation on how to improve coordination of marketing activities fostering a more results-oriented approach and on adopting a more strategic approach to research, that should  be based on overall research strategy, annual plan  and a corresponding budget.
