During the period of 30 March – 30 April 2015 TA Consult agricultural finance experts organized and delivered a series of 15 workshops teaching small agricultural producers where and how to get a loan. The workshops were held in towns and villages of Belozersky, Chaplinsky, Tsyurupinsky and Golopristansky regions of Kherson oblast and Samborsky, Starosamborsky and Skolivsky regions of Lviv oblast within the framework of USAID Agroinvest project.
The objective of these training sessions was to familiarize small agricultural producers with new opportunities of receiving funding, with specifics of lending terms and conditions, lending procedures and lending requirements. The participants were also trained to choose a reliable financial partner, to select best credit terms and to identify the most profitable types of agricultural activities. Representatives of local partner credit unions also attended the workshops and the participants could receive first-hand information about credit offers of their credit unions.
The workshops were held directly at localities where farmers lived and worked, with support of the village and district authorities. The participants stressed that the information received during the workshops was useful and presented their proposals to credit institutions to further adjust their loan products to the needs of small farmers.  
Within the current contract with USAID Agroinvest project the Consultant will conduct 20 trainings in total for small agricultural producers in the regions of operation of partner credit unions in Kherson, Lviv and Kharkiv oblasts.
