On December 2, 2010 the German-Belarusian Conference on SME Financing was held in "Johannes Rau" International Educational Center in Minsk (IBB), organized by TA Consult Ltd. The event was initiated by the German Ministry of Finance in cooperation with KfW banking group and supported by the Ministry of Economy of Belarus.

The event was aimed to contribute in strengthening SMEs in Belarus, developing SME financing instruments by Belarusian banks and linking German and Belarusian SME financing structures.

The Conference was attended by more than 100 participants and brought together representatives of German and Belarusian Governments, financing institutions and banks, Belarusian SMEs, SME-relevant administrative agencies, banking associations, SME associations, SME-oriented educational institutions.

The key topics discussed during the Conference:

SMEs in Belarus: legal framework, development obstacles and perspectives, financing conditions.
Instruments, supporting SME development on the national and local level.
SME financing in Belarus, role in facilitating SMEs development. German experience in SME financing.
